About Me
I’m a Grand Rapids, Michigan local. I grew up in a city driven by art and industry. I learned my craft from an early age. I wrote stories including my beloved short story Inheritance when I was only a hormonal teenager still figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. This adventure for my future led me to take my educational journey across the pond to Falmouth University, a Fine Arts college in the UK.
There, I learned more than just being creative, but writing with finesse, wittiness, and being diligent with my work and efficient with my words. COVID-19 drastically shifted my experience there, but I remained unfazed and undeterred. I navigated intense travel restrictions, communication hinderances, and I adapted to a completely new environment of learning, studying, and working remotely on top of enhancing my craft.
I accomplished what no one in my high school class accomplished, earning my Journalism & Creative Writing degree abroad after three years in Falmouth.
After Uni, I got gigs freelancing through Upwork and through groups I connected with online such as with The Young Folks (now known as InBetween Drafts) all while working full time as a Lead Barista for a Starbucks. My determination and patience paid off though. I found my first position at a local GR business called Audio Advisor. There, I became integral in building the company’s first-ever blog and updating and editing their web copy for their brand-new website which launched in July of 2023.
In the year I’ve spent in that role, I learned quickly, caught on quickly to what an audience and industry I wasn’t familiar with, and did more there than most content writers would do in several years.
Now, I’m looking to do even more.
My Skills
Adobe InDesign, Eye for Detail
Used InDesign to create and style writing and articles. This included building a whole magazine from scratch and crafting an ingenious interactive article called Pokemon: From Fad to Franchise.
Notion & Organization
At Audio Advisor, we managed everything through Notion. This included organising hundreds of pages for web copy and maintaining an organized database for the blog and Learning Center.
Slack, Teams, & Open Communication
Throughout uni and during most of my freelancing gigs, I got accustomed to using Slack and Microsoft Teams to maintain clear, efficient, and transparent communication.
Editing
Developed proper editing skills and processes, including using tools like Grammarly. I also naturally read things out loud to ensure fluidity and the smoothest reading experience.
WordPress & HMTL
With years of experience using WordPress, I manage this very website using it and during my years with The Young Folks. I expanded my knowledge of publishing online by learning HTML.
SEO & Keyword
I have extensive experience creating written content with a focus on SEO and Keyword search in titles, intros, subject lines, and more. For online writing, I know how to bring in and attract traffic through the nature of using likely searched words.

Writing Genre’s and Industries I work in…
Copywriting
- Web Copy. Writing concise, detailed, and lively web copy is essential for keeping visitors to any site coming back for more and pulling people into ads or articles. I can edit your existing copy to fulfill its intended purpose, or, if you’re starting from scratch, I can empower your site with the copy it deserves!
- Social Media. Don’t let your social media posts faulter or go into the dark abyss of stuff that gets scrolled past and ignored. I write posts with an active tone to promote community engagement and most importantly keep things positive!
- Blogs. Blogs are hard to maintain and keep up with. You have to keep the posts coming in order to really build a community, and that’s where I come in. I write efficiently and quickly without losing a drop of quality. Get the best without losing time or resources with me.
The Creative Arts
- Scriptwriting. I LOVE writing with a visual in mind. I LOVE being detailed and descriptive. Scriptwriting is also one of my personal passions and hobbies. I write for TV, film, and social media like TikTok, YouTube, and Reels. You can also view a selection of my works on Coverfly.
- Fiction. I grew up on writing fiction, especially the Sci-Fi and Fantasy genres. I am currently writing a fantasy saga as a side project. I love enticing readers into a completely new world and letting my imagination build the life, surroundings, and conflicts to create beautiful stories.
Journalism
Journalism is a vital and critical industry, and much more versatile than most people imagine.
- Digging Deep. Journalism is based off of being inquisitive and curious, asking questions and getting answers. I’ve done extensive interviews, prepped questions for interviewers, and researched backgrounds, so I know how to get the information articles deserve and readers need.
- Structuring. I structure articles and pieces to read as fine and fluid as they can and give readers the key points FIRST and FOREMOST. While I studied, I learned the art of distilling the most important information of sizeable packets of info and finding what readers should know.
